City University, represented by its President, Dr. Walid Dagher, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Vocational Education Sector of the Karamah Movement, represented by its President, Dr. Khalil Khalil, Director of the Technical Institute of Hotel Management in Tripoli.

The signing ceremony was attended, on behalf of City University, by Dr. Saadallah Halimi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities; Dr. Riyad Madani, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health; Rear Admiral Hosni Daher, Head of the Maritime Studies Department; Dr. Iman Baba, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism; and Dr. Rayan Najjar, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design. Representing the Vocational Education Sector of the Karamah Movement was the sector’s Secretary, Mr. Hossam Eid, Director of Deir Ammar Public Technical Institute.

The MoU aims to provide financial benefits and tuition discounts for the children of vocational and technical education teachers across all employment categories, including contracted and tenured teachers. This initiative follows an official request submitted by the Vocational Education Sector of the Karamah Movement to City University.

As part of the agreement, City University has established a fixed annual tuition rate for the academic programs covered by the MoU, contributing to easing the financial burden on students and their families. The agreement also provides an additional discount on English language course fees, when required, based on the results of a placement test.

The MoU further includes a commitment by both parties to facilitate the admission and enrollment of vocational education students wishing to pursue their university studies at City University, providing them with the necessary support and access to a distinguished academic environment under more accessible conditions.

Both parties emphasized that the primary objective of the MoU is to establish a strong and sustainable partnership between vocational education teachers and City University, while strengthening communication and collaboration between vocational education students and the university. This cooperation is intended to support students throughout their educational journey and open up new academic opportunities for their future.
