Professional Engineering Degrees Graduation Requirements
In the Engineering Departments, the number of credits required to obtain the BS Degree is 105 Credits. The graduation requirements are a Cumulative Average of 2.0.
Students with a Cumulative Average of 2.25 or above may be admitted to the Engineering Diploma Degree programs of the same major. They complete 45 credits including a 6 credit Final Year Project. Graduation requirements are a Cumulative Average of 2.5.
Students with a Cumulative Average of 2.50 or above may be admitted to the Master programs of the same major. They can choose between a thesis option of 45 credits plus a 6 credit Thesis or the non-Thesis Option where they complete 51 credits and a 3 credits project. Graduation requirements are a Cumulative Average of 3.0.
Students with the Engineering Diploma or the Master of Science degrees can apply to membership in the Orders of Engineers in Lebanon.
In addition to campus wide academic requirements for graduation, the following rules are also required:
- Obtain a grade 2.0 or better out of 4.5 in all major courses taken toward any degree.
- Sc. Degree: Complete successfully with a minimum Cumulative Average of 2.0 out of 4.5 a total of 105 credit hours as follow:
- University Requirements:15 Credits
- Faculty Requirements: 27 Credits
- Major Requirements: 39 Credits
- Major Electives: 9 Credits
- Labs 9 Credits
- Free Electives: 6 Credits
- Engineering Diploma:
- Complete the requirements of the Bachelor of Science with a Cumulative Average of a minimum of 2.25 out of 4.5.
- Complete Successfully 45 credit hours with a minimum Cumulative Average of 2.5 out of 4.5 as follow
- Technical Electives: 20 Credits
- Engineering Profession Requirements: 9 Credits
- Engineering Profession Electives: 3 Credits
- Final Year Project: 7 Credits
- Free Electives 6 Credits
- Master of Science.
- Complete the requirements of the Bachelor of Science with a Cumulative Average of a minimum of 2.5 out of 4.5.
- Complete Successfully 43 credit hours with a minimum Cumulative Average of 3.0 out of 4.5 as follow:
- Technical Electives: 34 Credits
- Engineering Profession Requirements: 9 Credits
- Thesis option. 2 credits course on Research Methods and 6 credits thesis. Total Credits 156.
- Non-Thesis Option. 2 credits course on Research Methods, 6 credits courses, and 3 Credits Project. Total Credits 159.

- Faculty Requirements 9 Credits
- Technical Requirements: 23 Credits
- Free Electives: 6 Credits
- Final Year Project: 7 Credits
Master of Science.
- Complete the requirements of the Bachelor of Science with a Cumulative Average of a minimum of 2.5 out of 4.5.
- Complete Successfully 51 credit hours with a minimum Cumulative Average of 3.0 out of 4.5 as follow:
- Engineering Profession Requirements: 9 Credits
- Technical Requirements 23 Credits
- Technical Electives: 11 Credits
- Thesis option. 2 credits course on Research Methods and 6 credits thesis. Total Credits 51.
- Non-Thesis Option. 2 credits course on Research Methods, 6 credits courses, and 3 Credits Project. Total Credits 54.
- Obtain grade C or above in the major courses.
- Obtain a minimum of an overall GPA of 2.0 out of 4.5
- Complete successfully a total of 96 Credits hours comprised of:
- University Requirements 15 Credits
- Faculty Requirements 15 Credits
- Department Requirements 18 Credits
- Major Requirements 18 Credits
- Major Electives 18 Credits
- Free Electives 12 Credits
