DEPARTMENT OF ELECTICAL ENGINEERING UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
In the Engineering Departments, the number of credits required to obtain the BS Degree is 105 Credits. The graduation requirements are a Cumulative Average of 2.0.
Students with a Cumulative Average of 2.25 or above may be admitted to the Engineering Diploma Degree programs of the same major. They complete 45 credits including a 6 credit Final Year Project. Graduation requirements are a Cumulative Average of 2.5.
Students with a Cumulative Average of 2.50 or above may be admitted to the Master programs of the same major. They can choose between a thesis option of 45 credits plus a 6 credit Thesis or the non-Thesis Option where they complete 51 credits and a 3 credits project. Graduation requirements are a Cumulative Average of 3.0.
Students with the Engineering Diploma or the Master of Science degrees can apply to membership in the Orders of Engineers in Lebanon.
Electronics and Computer Engineering
The field of Electronics and Computers appeals to students with great attention to details. The curriculum aims to train students to tackle tasks such as designing systems that are cheap, reliable and easy to use. CITYU Electronics and Computers Engineers are trained to evaluate, specify and operate projects of state of the art performance. The study also focuses on preparing new leaders by providing training in fundamentals of Mathematics and Physics, Electrical circuits and Digital Electronics, Analog Electronics, Microprocessors, Integrated Circuits, Programming, Data Mining and Software Engineering. Students are also allowed an extensive practical training to prepare them to design and specify various Electronics and computer systems and become leaders in their continuously evolving field.
FEIT offers a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Computers engineering (105 Credits) as well as a Engineering Diploma (150 Credits) and the Master of Science (51 Credits)

Communication and Network Engineering

All computers need to be networked, which poses a challenge to providing security and speed. CITYU Communication and Networking Engineers are prepared to think and act according to the technological development. CNE training combines required courses of Mathematics, Physics, with Fundamentals of Electrical and Communication Engineering. It is culminated with state of the art application of communication principles. Students receive extensive practical training which allows them to design and specify communication systems and become leaders in their continuously evolving field.

Biomedical Engineering
Health care providers continue to rely on the best available technology to help their patients. In a time of specialization, there is an increasing need for engineers who can design, operate, and maintain advanced and reliable equipment. CITYU Biomedical Engineering graduates can join the work force in the health care facilities specifying and maintaining equipment used by hospitals and health care practitioners. CITYU students receive basic Engineering training as Electronics and Computers Engineers. Their curriculum is complemented with insight on Biochemistry, Biophysics Transport Phenomena in the human body as well as Preventative Maintenance and best practices of equipment usage. Biomedical Engineering courses familiarize students to the hospital environment and allow them to become leaders in their continuously evolving field.
