As part of its commitment to education, community development, and expanding access to higher education for young people, City University, represented by its President, Dr. Walid Dagher, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the North Branch of the Official Basic Education Association. The agreement was signed on behalf of the association by Mr. Saadallah Bayda, Secretary of the North Branch.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Adel Murad, Dr. Saadallah Halimi, Dr. Riyad Madani, Admiral Hosni Daher, Dr. Iman Al-Baba, Dr. Hiba Al-Sheikh, and Mr. Maher Shaarani, Head of the Educational Office of Al-Karama Movement, representing City University. Representing the North Branch of the Official Basic Education Association was Mr. Mohammad Ismail, Head of the Social Committee.

The agreement aims to provide financial benefits and tuition discounts for the children of teachers who are active members of the North Branch of the Official Basic Education Association, enabling them to pursue their university education in a distinguished academic environment under affordable and supportive conditions that take current economic challenges into account. As part of this initiative, City University has adopted a fixed annual tuition rate for the academic programs covered by the agreement, helping to ease the financial burden on students and their families. In addition, students who require English language support, based on a placement test, will be eligible for further discounts on English language courses.

Both parties emphasized that this partnership reflects their shared belief in the importance of collaboration among educational institutions and their commitment to supporting students academically and professionally. They noted that such initiatives contribute positively to the local community and serve as a model of constructive cooperation between higher education institutions and educational organizations, enhancing access to quality education and supporting the continuity of Lebanon’s educational mission.
