Signing of a Cooperation Agreement between City University and the Unions of Akkar Municipalities
In a step that reflects City University’s commitment to its mission of serving the local community and strengthening partnerships between the academic sector and development institutions, a cooperation agreement was signed between City University, represented by its President, Dr. Walid Dagher, and several municipal unions from the Akkar region.
Participating in the signing alongside Dr. Dagher were:
Attorney Mohammad Al-Baarini, President of the Union of Municipalities of Jurd Al-Qaitaa, Mr. Mohammad Haddara, President of the Union of Archaeological Arqa Municipalities, Mr. Omar Al-Hayek, President of the Union of Municipalities of Nahr Al-Asfour, Mr. Mohammad Al-Jundi, President of the Municipality of Khreibet Al-Jundi, Mr. Ali Isber, President of the Union of Municipalities of Jabal Akrom, Mr. Ahmad Al-Hajj, representing the Union of Municipalities of Al-Joumeh, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Jahjah, representing the Union of Municipalities of Western Dreib, Mr. Kamal Maqssoud, representing the Union of Municipalities of Northern Akkar, Ms. Micheline Mikhael, Mr. Suleiman Mahfouz, representing the Union of Municipalities of Al-Sheft, and Mr. George Matar.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Eng. Zaidan Barakat, Vice President of the Union of Municipalities of Jurd Al-Qaitaa, and Mr. Ali Asaad, Vice President of the Union of Municipalities of Jabal Akrom, along with the university’s deans.
The agreement aims to provide university scholarships for students from Akkar, foster the exchange of scientific and technical expertise between the university and municipalities, and launch joint projects that contribute to the development of the Akkar region and the enhancement of its educational and developmental services.
Following the signing ceremony, the delegation toured the university campus, where they were introduced to its facilities and academic programs. The event concluded with a luncheon hosted in honor of the delegation by MP Faisal Karami, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees.
