Enroll New Online Courses
Dear Instructor,
New Instructors who wish to teach online, must take several steps to run their classroom online. Please follow these steps at the beginning of the semester:
Get your credentials
The Student Information System (SIS) account: this will help you get the list of all your classroom students along with their respective University ID. You can get your SIS ID from the human resources department. For more information, please contact Mrs. Ihsan Al Chami
You Microsoft 365 Account: this will help you gain access to all your online service including Microsoft Teams, our online teaching platform. You can get your Microsoft account from the Information Technology Department. For more information, please contact Mr. Wassim Baroudi.
Log In to the SIS to retrieve your students list:
Generating students’ name and ID on SIS:
Open Internet Explorer (No other browser is supported)
Go to the following link: https://cityu.edu.lb/sis
Enter credentials (ID and Password) provided by the HR department.
The first time you enter your credentials, you are requested to change the given password. Make sure that the new password is at least 8 characters long and contains at least 1 number and one CAPITAL letter.
Once you login click on the reporting tab located at the top of the page
Go to Reporting then click enrollment
After enrollment, kindly enter the course code or the course description.
Click on Submit (after the course appears) then click on select button
Click on Generate Student Enrollment Report
After these steps, the name of students, their IDs and their mobile numbers will appear to you.
How To Register
Dear Student,
Students who wish to register at City University, must take the following steps:
- After submitting your application to the admissions office, the admission officer is required to provide you with a username and password to access the student information system (SIS). You can access the system later on to register your courses.
- Pass by the registrar office to check whether you have any remedial courses including intensive English Program. If you do not have any remedial course, please go to step number 4.
- Pass by the office of the director of Intensive English Program (IEP) located in the Arts & Science Building, third floor to assign your English level. And to remove the registration hold from the system.
- Pass by the office of the dean of the faculty to advise you with courses that needs to register
- Pass by the accounting department and pay the university semestrial registration fees. Student must pay 1,200,000 LBP as an advanced payment and 5% of the course registration in fresh dollars. The Account office is located at the administration building, ground floor, room no 2.
- Online registration:
- Using your computer or mobile browser, please go to the following link: https://sis.cityu.edu.lb/studentportal
- Enter your ID in the username field (Example 202310102)
- Enter your password the default password is Cityu2023
- You need to change your password the first time you login it has to be at least 8 characters long and contains at least 1 number and one CAPITAL letter.
- Once logged into your SIS account, go to registration and then click on ‘find classes to add’.
- Once you open ‘find classes to add’, you will see a list of classes available for you.
- To add a course, click on the course and then click on add. Under the list, the registered courses will show.
- Finally, you will be successfully registered.
How To Access Your Email/Teams
Dear Student,
In order to attend your online classrooms, we have created a Microsoft Account for you.
Your Microsoft account can help you login to your:
– Email: yourid@st.cityu.edu.lb
– Microsoft Teams to attend your classroom (you can download the app on your phone or your computer)
– Your Cloud Storage (1 Terra Byte)
– Your CityU Services Portal https://my.cityu.edu.lb (check grades, time, finance, financial aid application, and other services)
Students who wish to access Microsoft Teams from web browsers, must take the following steps:
- Go to https://teams.office.com
- Enter your email address (example 202310202@st.edu.lb).
- Enter your password and click sign in.
- Choose how to open and use Teams:
A. Download the Windows app.
B. Use the web app instead.
5. After you sign into your account, your account will be open and ready to use on Microsoft teams.
