In the framework of enhancing communication between its alumni and students, the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at City University, in cooperation with the IEEE Student Chapter, organized an interactive meeting in which it hosted Marwa Fawal. Marwa shone with her outstanding achievement in her graduation project, where she designed an implantable orthotic device to treat foot drop, which contributed to restoring patients to their normal movement and received wide recognition for this distinctive innovation, for which she received a patent and scientific innovation award from the university.

The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Hiba Al-Sheikh, started the meeting with a moving speech praising Marwa’s professional achievements, stressing the importance of diligence and perseverance to achieve success, and calling on students to benefit from the experiences of graduates to achieve excellence.

In turn, Marwa reviewed her university career as a crucial starting point, noting that success depends on effective use of time, and that the challenges she faced were valuable lessons that contributed to her professional development.

Marwa then moved on to talk about her career journey, which began with an intensive practical training at Haykal Hospital, where she proved her competence and gradually progressed in responsibilities, until she became responsible for the maintenance and engineering department of medical equipment, playing a pivotal role in improving the efficiency of medical devices and raising the level of services provided to patients.

The meeting witnessed great enthusiasm from the students, who raced to ask Marwa questions about her experience and how she managed to overcome the challenges she faced, encouraging them to develop themselves and take advantage of every obstacle as an opportunity to grow.

The session concluded in a positive atmosphere, with students expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to interact with a real-life model of success, emphasizing the importance of such events that give them clear insights and inspiration to face challenges with confidence and determination.
