MATLAB workshop at City University opens new horizons for students’ careers

The IEEE Student Chapter at City University organized a hands-on MATLAB workshop at the university’s Tripoli campus.

The workshop aimed to provide students with advanced skills in MATLAB, a powerful programming language widely used in various scientific and engineering fields.

The workshop included a lecture on signal processing, image processing, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, presented by Dr. Mohammad Khalil, a professor at the Lebanese University and director of the Al Azm Research Center at the Lebanese University.

This workshop is part of a series of workshops offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology in collaboration with the IEEE student chapter at City University.

The IEEE student representative opened the workshop with a speech welcoming the guests and thanking everyone who contributed to the success of the event, including Dr. Mohammad Khalil and Dr. Hiba El Sheikh, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the university administration, and the sponsors of the event.

The IEEE student representative emphasized the importance of MATLAB as a powerful tool used in various fields, and stressed that the workshop is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their skills in this programming language.

Dr. Khalil then gave a detailed explanation of the topics of signal processing, image processing, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, using MATLAB as a basic tool.

Dr. Khalil focused on practical examples and real-world applications of these topics, allowing students to better grasp their concepts.

The workshop provided an excellent opportunity for students to develop their skills in MATLAB and gain practical experience in advanced scientific and engineering fields.
