Maritime Transport Program
The Maritime Transport program is a comprehensive four-year curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to prepare you for a successful career in maritime operations, logistics, and management. The program is divided into many stages, each designed to provide you with a well-rounded education in the field.
Stage 1: Foundation Years (4 Semesters)
- Introduction to Maritime Studies
- Navigation and Seamanship
- Maritime English and Communication
- Principles of Maritime Law
- Mathematics for Navigation
Stage 2: Maritime Navigation (2 Semesters)
- Celestial Navigation
- Meteorology and Oceanography
- Ship Handling and Maneuvering
- Maritime Safety and Security
- Cargo Handling and Stowage
A joint program with the Arab Academy of Science & Technology & Maritime Transport. The Bachelor of Technology in Marine Navigation and 2nd Mate curriculum comprises 8 semesters: Students must complete a total of 57 credits in CITYU during 3 semesters and perform on-board ship training either on AIDA IV or on board of a Lebanese ship under CITYU supervision, followed by three semesters (6th, 7th and 8th) in Alexandria, Egypt.
