Introduction to American Standards in Execution Drawings (AIA).
The Scientific Committee at the Order of Engineers and Architects in Tripoli and the North, in collaboration with City University Tripoli, organized a workshop titled: ‘Introduction to American Standards in Execution Drawings (AIA).’
The event began with a welcoming speech from Dr. Claudia Matar, the head of the Scientific Committee. She greeted the participating students from various universities in the North, including 35 participants from Lebanese University, Alba, Notre Dame University-Louaize, and City University. Dr. Matar praised the collaboration between the Order and the universities, commending City University’s role in the workshop.She emphasized the crucial role of student engagement, bringing them closer to the Order and the job market.
The workshop was divided into three parts, commencing with the Chairperson of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at City University, Ar. Restorer Rayan Najjar, and the academic instructor, Ar. Mohamad Abdulfattah. During the workshop, an introduction to American Standards (AIA) adopted in architectural engineering, specifically in execution drawings, was provided. The components and fundamentals were explained, followed by an interactive discussion with the students. In the final part of the workshop, participants, in alignment with the speakers, applied practical work on plans, elevations, sections, and adhered to the standards outlined in the workshop. To conclude the workshop, certificates of participation were distributed to the participating students, and appreciation trophies were presented to the instructors from City University.
