From Tripoli to Byblos… A Memorable Tour for City University’s Faculty of Tourism Students Exploring History and Heritage Treasures

As part of its efforts to enrich the practical dimension of the academic program, the Faculty of Tourism at City University organized a field trip for its students to the historic city of Byblos. The tour was led by Dr. Nadia Kabbara and supervised by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Iman Baba.

The students began their tour by strolling through the streets of Byblos, enjoying the charm of a city that reflects a rich history and a continually evolving civilization. They then visited the vibrant old souk, where they explored the region’s local heritage and traditional crafts that define its cultural identity.

The tour also included a visit to the “Vero” Museum, home to a unique collection of statues representing prominent artists and political figures. This gave the students an opportunity to learn about key personalities from Lebanon’s rich cultural and historical legacy.

To conclude the tour, the students headed to Byblos Castle, one of Lebanon’s most iconic tourist landmarks. They admired its remarkable historical architecture and wandered through its halls, exploring an ancient Roman pathway, a Roman theater, and royal tombs—diving deep into the layers of history and soaking in the spirit of a civilization that tells the stories of their ancestors.

In summary, this field trip reaffirmed the Faculty of Tourism’s commitment at City University to preparing skilled tourism professionals capable of promoting Lebanon’s name and cultural heritage with pride.
