City University’s Faculty of Tourism Participates in an International Conference in Doha

The Faculty of Tourism at City University took part in the conference titled “Culture and Contemporary Trends in Geography and Artificial Intelligence Applications,” held at Katara Cultural Village in Doha, Qatar. The university was represented by Dr. Rasha Sultan, who presented a research paper entitled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Heritage Preservation and Cultural Development: The Cultural and Urban Heritage of Tripoli as a Case Study.”

In her presentation, Dr. Sultan highlighted ways in which smart technologies can be integrated to preserve Tripoli’s heritage, explaining the role of artificial intelligence in documenting and safeguarding historical landmarks, raising cultural awareness, and supporting sustainable tourism development.

In conclusion, this participation reflects City University’s commitment to international engagement and to promoting scientific research that bridges geography with technological innovation, while showcasing Lebanese heritage and contributing to the revitalization of historic cities.
