City University Engineering and Information Technology Students Participate in the 8th International Conference on Advances in Biomedical Engineering (ICABME 2025)
In an academic achievement that highlights City University’s excellence, three students from the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology — Osama Hallab, Aziza Hallak, and Sami Al-Majanini — participated in the 8th International Conference on Advances in Biomedical Engineering (ICABME 2025). Their participation was supervised by Dean Dr. Hiba El Sheikh and their professors Dr. Mohammad Khalil, Dr. Firas Zakaria, Dr. Ahmad Diab, and Dr. Aya Kabara. The students presented their scientific research, which will soon be published in the IEEE Xplore international journal.
The conference was held on Thursday and Friday, October 9–10, 2025, at the Beirut Arab University – Debbieh Campus, under the patronage of Dr. Fadi Makki, Minister of State for Administrative Development, and in the presence of Eng. Tawfik Sinan, representing the President of the Order of Engineers and Architects in Lebanon, Eng. Fadi Hanna; Prof. Nazih Moubayed, Chair of the IEEE Lebanon Section; Prof. Mohammad Diab, Chair of the IEEE EMBS Lebanon Chapter; along with numerous academics and researchers.
This conference is one of the region’s most prominent academic events, bringing together researchers from 21 countries across five continents, creating a global platform for scientists, engineers, and medical professionals to exchange the latest developments in biomedical engineering, brain signal analysis, and artificial intelligence in medicine.
For the participating students, this was a valuable opportunity to present their innovative research before an international scientific audience — an achievement that underscores City University’s commitment to supporting scientific research and encouraging creativity and academic excellence among its students.
