City University Announces AACSB Accreditation Process for Faculty of Business Administration
City University is proud to announce its decision to join the AACSB International Network, as of March 1st, 2023. AACSB International is a global nonprofit association that connects educators, students, and businesses to create the next generation of great leaders. This move is part of City University’s ongoing commitment to providing the highest-quality programs and education to its students.
AACSB accreditation is known worldwide as the longest-standing and most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn. The process is voluntary and involves a rigorous external review of a school’s mission, faculty qualifications, curricula, and ability to provide the highest-quality programs. AACSB accreditation is recognized as the gold standard of quality in business education.
City University has already started the accreditation process with AACSB for its Faculty of Business Administration, and the first step was completed in just 24 hours. The university has received the status of a member of AACSB as shown in the attached document. The entire process normally takes five years to complete, but City University hopes to complete it in less time.
The team working towards accreditation will consist of the Official Representative (the President or appointee), the Primary Contact (the Dean of the Faculty of Business), the Administrative Assistant (Ms. Arwa Haddad), and the Accreditation Representative (Ms. Najat Minkara). More people will be involved in the process, but AACSB identified and filled the above positions.
The accreditation process involves nine steps, including becoming an educational member of AACSB, submitting the unit of accreditation application, submitting the eligibility application and developing the initial self-evaluation report (iSER), paying the acceptance and initial accreditation fee, accreditation standards alignment, submitting the final iSER and strategic plan, final SER review, pre-visit analysis, and school visit, and finally, ratification or denial of accreditation.
AACSB International has been established since 1916, providing quality assurance, business education intelligence, and learning and development services to over 1,850 member organizations and more than 950 accredited business schools worldwide. The main offices are located in Florida, Amsterdam, and Singapore, serving more than 1,850 member organizations from about 100 countries, more than 950 accredited schools from about 60 countries, and more than 1,350 volunteers from about 55 countries and territories.
City University believes that achieving AACSB accreditation will increase trust among the community in the university and its Faculty of Business Administration. For more information about AACSB International and the accreditation process, please visit www.aacsb.edu.
