City University and Civil Defense Conduct First Aid Training to Equip Students for Emergencies

The Faculty of Business Administration at City University recently hosted a comprehensive first aid training course in collaboration with the Civil Defense, aimed at equipping students with essential life-saving skills and enhancing their readiness to respond to emergency situations.

The training was led by Mr. Mohamed Baghdadi, a representative of the Civil Defense, and attended by Mrs. Najat Minkara along with a large group of enthusiastic students.

Throughout the session, Mr. Baghdadi delivered an in-depth overview of first aid principles, underlining the importance of remaining calm, removing casualties from danger, assessing vital signs, and providing immediate care before professional medical help arrives.

The course covered the proper handling of various emergency scenarios, from life-threatening conditions such as respiratory arrest and severe bleeding to more minor injuries. Participants were trained on how to assess both conscious and unconscious individuals and follow the correct sequence of emergency response steps.

Emphasis was also placed on the protection of first responders, with a strong focus on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, face masks, and safety goggles. The instructor stressed the importance of hygiene, including changing PPE after each case and thoroughly washing hands and face post-intervention.

Students took part in hands-on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) drills and exercises aimed at developing decision-making, communication, and emergency response skills. These practical sessions, supervised by Mr. Baghdadi, allowed students to apply what they had learned in a controlled environment, significantly boosting their confidence and capability.

At the close of the event, it was announced that all participating students would receive certificates of completion. In appreciation of the Civil Defense’s valuable contribution to public safety education, Mrs. Najat Minkara presented a trophy to Mr. Mohamed Baghdadi on behalf of the university.

This initiative reflects City University’s commitment to fostering community engagement and promoting safety awareness among its student body.
