Maritime Studies department vision is to help students become successful Engineers and Maritime Captain to meet the needs of the community through the advancement of technical awareness and social responsibility.

Vision

Maritime Studies department mission is to:

  • Provide high quality education & research programs with the support of dedicated and experienced faculties,
  • Strengthen CityU’s leadership role by enhancing partnerships with industry, government laboratories, & academic & research institutions and to
  • Foster focus in Engineering, Maritime Economic, Environmental, and Social skills that leads to employment ready graduates.

Objectives

Our goal is to play a key role in educating future leaders in technology by providing state-of-the-art programs in engineering and information technology. Our goal also includes continued improvement of the undergraduate and the graduate curricula for education of a new breed of students. These students possess not only a strong knowledge of fundamentals, but also an understanding of societal, legal and environmental issues that determine intellectual technological choices.

Location & Area

The area assigned to the Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology and Maritime Studies extends over 2100 m2 and has a capacity for 350 fulltime students and researchers.
